Soft hotdog rolls are a delightful treat that can be enjoyed on various occasions. These homemade rolls are the perfect complement to your favorite sausages or hotdogs, offering a soft and pillowy texture that enhances the overall eating experience. Made with a careful selection of ingredients and a meticulous baking process, these rolls are not just a convenient snack; they’re a testament to the art of breadmaking.
Ingredients:
• 150g Bread flour
• 150g All-purpose flour
• 100g Liquid Milk
• 95g Water
• 50g Sugar
• 5g Salt
• 15g Shortening
• 10g Instant Yeast
• 15g Butter
Procedure:
Weigh and gather all the necessary ingredients for your soft hotdog rolls.
On a clean surface, combine the bread flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt, and mix them carefully by hand.
Add the yeast, shortening, butter, and water to the mixture.
Mix and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Ensure that the dough passes the window test, meaning it stretches without tearing.
Portion the dough into 50g pieces.
Roll each portion into smooth balls.
Allow the dough balls to rest for 10 minutes, covered, to prevent the outer layer from forming a crust.
Roll out each dough ball into long strips resembling ropes.
Make sure the surface of your sausages or hotdogs is dry and not greasy.
Wrap the dough around each sausage or hotdog until it is fully covered.
Place the rolled doughs onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Cover them with oiled cling wrap to prevent sticking.
Allow the dough to proof for 1 to 2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
Gently brush the proved dough with an egg wash made from 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of condensed milk.
Bake the rolls at 150°C for 15 to 20 minutes or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
Once baked, allow the rolls to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container in the fridge for a maximum of 5 days.
Important Note:
Please avoid leaving the product at room temperature higher than 4°C for more than 4 hours. If the product is exposed to 5°C or higher for more than 4 hours, it should be consumed immediately or reheated until it reaches 65°C for safety.
These soft hotdog rolls are a culinary delight that combines the art of breadmaking with the convenience of a classic favorite. Enjoy them as a snack, for picnics, or whenever you crave a delectable treat.
