Best Chocolate Brownies - elevating the Classic: Coffee-Infused Liquor Brownies

Indulging in chocolate brownies is a universal delight, especially after a satisfying meal. Yet, I couldn’t help but wonder, could chocolate be elevated with a touch of liquor? With a penchant for creating unique recipes, I decided to embark on a culinary adventure to reinvent the classic brownie, infusing it with a subtle yet tantalizing alcohol twist.

These brownies retain their beloved fudgy texture, but they offer something extra – a mild, harmonious marriage between chocolate and liquor. As the founder of the Newbee Baking and Cooking Facebook group, I shared this recipe with my fellow food enthusiasts. To my delight, they embraced the concept and even experimented with different types of liquor to suit their preferences.

After all, who can resist the allure of chocolate, especially when it’s combined with the subtle kick of alcohol?

Ingredients

Instant Coffee - 7 grams

Hot water - 15 grams

Melted Butter - 200 grams

Glucose - 50 grams

Sugar - 400 grams

Eggs - 200 grams

Vanilla - 5 grams

Whisky/Rum/Brandy/Vodka - 10 grams

Chocolate Chips - 200 grams

Cocoa, sifted - 110 grams

All-Purpose flour, sifted - 80 grams

Baking Powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Process:

  1. Begin by dissolving coffee in hot water and allowing it to cool. Set it aside for later use.

  2. In a microwave, melt the butter together with glucose. Add sugar and mix for 3 minutes.

  3. Gradually add eggs while mixing, continue mixing for another 10 minutes at a slow speed. Ensure all sugar is dissolved.

  4. Incorporate vanilla, alcohol, and the dissolved coffee into the sugar and egg mixture, and continue mixing.

  5. Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Take 100 grams of the dry ingredients mixture and add it to the chocolate chips, coating them evenly. Set this mixture aside.

  6. Add the remaining dry ingredients to the mixture and continue mixing for 1 minute or just enough to combine.

  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips that have been coated with dry ingredients. Immediately transfer the mixture to a pre-lined or greased 8x8 or 8x9 pan, then bake in a preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes at 150°C.

  8. Allow the brownies to cool for 30 minutes before slicing them evenly.

These Coffee-Infused Liquor Brownies represent a delectable fusion of flavors, where the richness of chocolate is perfectly complemented by a subtle alcoholic note. A classic treat with a twist, they’re bound to satisfy your cravings for something sweet and sophisticated.
